Make The Most Of Your Situation

Bio: I was a sophomore in college when 9/11/01 occurred, soon after, joined as an officer in 2005.

I only wanted to fly, which is why I went to college and became a Multi-Engine, Instrument, Commercial Pilot.

During my time in the service, Major Galuzzo was a favorite instructor of mine, who, Introduced me to helicopter piloting. On March 3rd, I decided to hover, not Fly, with “Hair on Fire”. I then went to FT. Rucker in Alabama, where an Old Vietnam pilot taught me how to fly/hover a Huey.

I finished at top of my class. I chose the combat option for my service. My 1st assignment was at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas, NV.

I was Deployed twice to Iraq (2008 and 2009) and deployed to Afghanistan (2010) for 3 months, which turned into 4 months, and 5 days before rotating out. I was shot down by Taliban (small arms fire or RPG) (shot tail rotator out, spun like a top, made impact).I have no memory of the incident.

Impact art has made: HUGE STRESS RELIEF!!! Drawing, painting, and clay, it’s a way to relive the moment, because of memory loss. Some people may ask “Why I want to relive it?” Because I can’t remember the event, and it is life altering, and I want to know why I am the way I am.
