The Lord's mercies

Bio: I served with the 29th Support Battalion and 100 Battalion. I didn't know any of them until pre-deployment training and Kuwait. I happened to get stuck overseas when President Bush put a stop loss into effect. It put everything on hold. No one in, no one out, no one comes home. It was...how shall we say... Irritating, Infuriating to some.(especially those looking forward to being released!)

I was injured a few times, because once is never enough for me I guess! I'm a Bocock, I mean look at the name! In short, it means I'm an all in kind of gal!

I'm extremely passionate about anything I put my mind to, and this was no different. It was my L hip and pelvis shattering that finally took me out of the game. I was a Medic and Preventive Medicine Specialist. The later of their 2, being a rare job[ not many of us out there]. I knew my battalion, as well as 100 battalion, needed me, and I didn't want to leave them behind.

Impact art has made: I come from an extremely creative family. Many of whom are professional known artists. What can I say!? It's in the jeans!!

It was art that set me free from myself and the struggles I had having been deployed. Seeing and doing things that no human should!

New Beginnings: The Lord's mercies are new every day and I am living breathing passionate proof of that!!! To new Beginnings!!!

Piece created with: This piece was done by my caretaker and myself using acrylics, water, real flowers, and then of course, we only used hands and fingers. We decided freestyling gave it more of the feeling and meaning derived from the scripture we chose.
