Virginia Bridge's work is concerned with the human experience of geometric form, material and surface.

Her work is a consideration of her own subliminal response to particular architectural spaces. Imposing geometries are a recurring theme, as is an exploration of the surface materiality that is integral to architectural form.

Virginia's recent work, shown here, is a celebration of the 'Brutalist' architecture of the mid 20th century. The introduction of reinforced, moulded concrete provided architects opportunities to innovate and exceed traditional design boundaries, resulting in unprecedented, experimental and, often, playful forms. The Southbank and Barbican series encapsulate the essence of these iconic concrete structures, inviting the viewer to share in their visceral impact. The characteristics of etching are exploited to convey the haptic quality of the multiple concrete surface textures.

Virginia graduated from the University of the West of England in 2019, with an MA in multidisciplinary printmaking.

She has exhibited widely across the UK, including the WCPF, The Affordable Art Fair, Fresh Art and the Hepworth Wakefield 2020.
