Roger von Gunten is an artist and sculptor, originally from Zurich, but in 1980 became a naturalized Mexican citizen.

He featured as the subject of a famous 1978 essay by Jomí García Ascot and was part of the Ruptura movement that emerged as an artistic response to break away from the dominance of Mexican Muralism, that by the 1950s was deemed archaic and unrepresentative.
