This is the point on the river Carron near Larbert where the Carron Ironworks drew off water into a lade to power their works. The weir holding back the river was breached years ago and the volume of water going over the weir the day I was there was a lot - but it was clear and very still at the same time - like a distorting mirror it changed the shape of the tress reflecting in it.
