Among the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona I was opened up to a new vision. My sketch book became full of floating earth and sacred geometry. Pieces of land connecting through air and water. These sketches felt like a piece of my heart and seemed to touch others as well. After one of my hikes, I ran home, grabbed my acrylic paints, a canvas, and sat for three days straight working with this piece. Starting with the monsoon filled clouds that soak
in the desert setting sun, the red rock islands came to life. A summer rain in a hot, harsh and dusty climate, the earth connects with the sky. Revealing how rich the land truly is through blooming cactus and abundant wildflowers. The diamonds in this painting are a symbol of balance in the masculine and feminine and bring a grounded element to an elevated and enlightened feeling. To witness a place, in its totality, cycling and nurturing itself in the most powerful and elegant ways... is always an honor.
