A few years ago I painted a juicy little oil impression of my evening drive between Gooderham and Haliburton Village. I often thought it would make a good big painting. As part of my COVID quest to gain greater facility with acrylics I took up the challenge to go bigger, take my time and to jump from a visual impression to something more allegorical. The story painting has no timeline, only scenes; a burned out headlight on a dark road, signs of habitation, pesky oncoming highbeams and moonlight. Play with it and you may find a story or two.
