王亥的創作探討歷史、身份的議題，藉此訴說自己和香港的關係。在《從荃灣到中環》，王氏由荃灣到中環、再由中環到南丫島的船程是會工作室的必經之路，他將這段旅程乘地鐵由荃灣到中環，再由中環乘船往南丫島，約需三小時的旅程。這旅程曾是王亥從家中到畫室的必經之路。他把這幕地鐵的擠逼情景戲劇化地紀錄下。

Through exploring the issues of history and identity in his works, Wang Hai illuminates his personal relationship with the city. In From Tsuen Wan to Central, the artist documents his mundane journey of commuting from Tsuen Twan to Central by MTR, and then from Central to Lamma Island by ferry, which usually takes him 3 hours. It was once the mundane routine of the artist to go to his studio from home. In his work, the artist documents the everyday yet dramatic scene of people squeezing onto the train compartments.
