This piece challenged me to overcome my ‘fear of the dark’ to create depth in the recesses of the first floors and windows of the upper floors, and bring texture to the roofs. Using vibrant colors adds a touch of playfulness, and evokes the tropical hues found among Singapore’s many shophouses.
