“Creating these images was a major source of therapy and becoming free of all expectations I had for myself. Taking self-portraits is not easy, but I felt like this was a process I needed to go through, and I am incredibly happy I did.”
This project is a part of Craciun’s photobook Inner Chaos, which she worked on during a photography minor in Autumn 2021. She chose this series of black and white images because she felt with this last chapter of the photo book, titled Control, she was able to face herself and come full circle.
With Inner Chaos, Craciun wanted to explore identity. While going through a very transformative and challenging period in her life, where she had felt that she was losing herself and who she truly was at her core.
