Keskitalo was inspired by memories of standing barefoot on a pile of dirty and mossy rocks, by a lake she usually went swimming in. While she stood there, she got lost in the beautiful patterns the moss had made on the rocks. They looked like small colorful fireworks splattered across the rough surface of the gray rocks.
She has always believed that truly everything and anything can have beauty in it if you want to see it. She used that memory as an inspiration for this piece and added a sprinkle of magic to encourage your imagination to take flight. At it’s core, she wants to say that anything can be (extra) ordinary.
