A deep learning model was used to convert the style of a stained cheek cell to the style of Kandinsky, specifically looking at his work “Color Study: Squares with Concentric Circles”. From left to right starting at the top, each panel represents the model’s attempt to emulate Kandinsky’s work. If an algorithm was able to produce this work, who is the artist? Can AI be an artist? If AI can be reduced to an algorithm, is our creativity a product of an algorithm?
