Isolation , 2017-2022
Photography

Isolation is a series of analog black and white photos taken between 2017-2019 and hand-made into prints in 2022. The series deals with feelings of isolation. Isolation from one another, from nature, from a wider cultural space that exists away from our digital bubble.

While it is a theme that is more relevant now than it has ever been before, our increasing isolation is a progression of a long arc. This results partly from evolving technology, but also the rise of individual experience as the guiding principle of western societies. Our freedom of choice as individuals, as supremely important as it is, is driving forward the further fragmentation of our shared existence.
