The concept of my painting was inspired by the edit of a scottish elk, by Diego Hernandez, holding the sun with its antlers. The landscape inside the sphere with the orcas was inspired by the artist Alicia J. Kutchaw with her surreal whale paintings. I wanted to reveal the complex relationship between the animals and the natural environment affected by the increase in human habitation leading to a surrealistic visualisation of the abstractness of how the animals are losing their living space.
