The heard gear is a war crown designed with coral beads. On the forehead is a molded charm with four cowrie shells and called Ugbe na beghe Igbe I ghe ode, eirhu’ onwan aro (the stone you see coming cannot bling you). On the back of her head is the Iyeke ebe z’ukpe charm (boomerang). On her neck is the Iri Okina (the precaution rope), with four leopard teeth tied to it. The rope warns her to be careful. On her chest is the Ukugbavan (the day belt); problem never stops the day from dawning. Under it is the Ukugba Igheghan Odin (the belt of the dumb jingle belt) to hypnotize her enemies. The Ukugba Ohanmwen (hunger preventer) is above the Aidede Okherhe vb’igban ( you don’t embrace a young oil palm tree full of thorns) to prevent enemies from daring her. The Ukaga igheghan (belt of the jingle bells) rings to prevent defeat and to frighten enemies. The Atete Iwi y ogho ( a traditional tray never gets lost while being used for hawking)—-safe return and victory. All the above are propped by the Ukugba ason (the belt of the night witches) to give her victory ovr enemies because unless the night gives you judgment, you will never win. The charms are sewn, hooked and pinned to the war dress made from a full skin of a mature leopard with the head, fore and hind legs complete to make her invulnerable to war accidents and defeat. There are two Agbada (swords) hung in their sheaths on the two sides of her hips. She has three Egba Ifennwen Obi (amulets) poisonous arrows bangles on her left arm and two Ebei K’Awe y’ uhun erhan ( danger never meets the Awe bird while perched on a tree). In her right hand is the Ezebetebe ( the war sword) and a charm seized from a diviner sent the Attah (King) of Idah to spy on Benin on her left hand.
