vulnerable fortitude IV
40 x 130 cm (h x w)
Digital Photography

This sculpture was inspired by Iris van Herpen, trying to zone into the inner-skeletal structures of humans, challenging the concept of safety and vulnerability. The structure implies strength, as the aluminum foil appears incommodious. Vulnerability arises as the aluminum foil is something movable, manipulatable, and quite fragile. This contrast of medium and appearance shows the true duality of a person, how strong we might want to appear but how easily affected we are by inconveniences.
