Artist Statement

This photograph is one image which was part of a series I did where a girl is lost on a paradise island with beautiful scenery surrounding her. She is dressed in a colourful outfit on a deserted island. I wanted to take advantage of the beautiful landscape and the colourful teal dress my model was wearing. So I put a circular mirror on the sandy ground and framed her while still seeing the beautiful mountain in the background.

Artist Bio

Born and raised in Mauritius, Calvin moved to Canada in 2019 to study photography at Humber College, Toronto. Throughout the years, he specialized in commercial and editorial photography. He helped various companies build their presence on social media by creating powerful and attractive photographs for marketing and advertising. In late 2020, his works have been on the front covers of two popular local magazines; Scope and Essentielle.
