Artist Statement

In this piece called “If the apple was the source of it all “, the photographic artwork shows Apple products below a bed of flowers. Around the devices is a soft halo demonstrating how the power is originating with the apple product and is being distributed to the flowers above. I wanted to show the relationship between technology and the state of the earth. The goal of this artwork is to present a conceptual work that is relatable to the world around me. Apple products are a commodity in the technological era but do very little for the eco system at large. This is very much in contrast to the biblical connection to an apple and its influence on people of the world. Typically, the rise of technology has a negative impact on the earth and its ecology but I wanted to pose a question; what if technology encouraged growth, plants and flowers? What if the cords that we used to charge our devices charged the photosynthesis process and recycled the power again. The plants charging technology and technology charging plants.
