Artist Statement

In creating this double exposure and duotone photograph I stumbled upon a poem written by the late American poet Charles Bukowski. The title of the photograph is that of the poem. Bluebird has many interpretations and can have twice as many metaphors but to myself the blue bird represents the doubt, insecurities, and hardships we deal with alone. We decide when to allow the bluebird to fly or to let it die inside.

We all have a bluebird inside, let it sing its song.
