Artist Statement

I was inspired by iconic comic book characters, in this case The Flash & Superman, and comic book art. I was also inspired by different types of photography like “product/still life”, “diptych photography”, and “composite photography”. For my image, I did a photo diptych using figures of Flash and Superman with comic pages as backgrounds for the subjects. I grew up reading comic books and loving these iconic characters. The intention was to show these colourful characters coming out of the pages of the comics.

Artist Bio

Kevin Nguyen is a Toronto based commercial photographer. His interest in photography first started after taking a photography class in high school and he has continued to enjoy it ever since. He loves capturing images and showcasing the final image in creative ways. He was able to further develop his skills in the Photography program at Humber College where he found his interest in commercial photography.
