STORY:
Lying just 6 kilometres off the coast of Norfolk Island, Phillip Island is an interesting place for photography. It made me think of Mars colliding with the southern Pacific. The rich colours of the exposed rocks, contrasting with the beautiful skies and ever-changing cloud formations, provide many photo opportunities. And on top of that , the island boasts sapphire seas, classic Norfolk Island pines, and abundant bird life. For this photo, I focused on a small section of an eroded ridge. The strong colour variance helps to separate the different areas of the image and give better depth perception. I called this image Pinnacles because it reminded me of The Pinnacles near Cervantes in Western Australian – only far more colourful.
