STORY:
It had been raining on and off for days, and as this waterfall only flows well after rain, I thought I might try a sunrise shot here. I had been to this location years before but decided to check out the track before heading down in the dark, as things can change. Things had changed! To call it a track now is overstating. It was a case of finding my way down the cliff without falling, then carefully traversing the boulder-littered shoreline. The boulders are covered with algae, so stepping from stone to stone – even with great care – was like walking on banana skins. Forewarned, I returned the next morning for sunrise with a good head torch. Here you see fresh water tumbling into the waiting arms of Cascade Bay. The cycle of life goes on and all is well.
