This is an installation by the Japanese designer Oki Sato. While it looks like a 16-meter-long plastic pipe in appearance, it serves as a clock when you cut through the middle of it. Each visitor can slice a piece of the tube-like clock according to their age - each millimeter represents a year of age.
Engaging with the subject of time in an innovative way, the designer Oki Sato represents the abstract concept of time with tangible materials like plastic pipes. After slicing a piece of "time" for themselves, people can "own" their time by going through a custom-made process of production stages including polishing, sandblasting, etc. Yet, time is limited. This artwork inspires the audience to contemplate how to distribute their time more efficiently and treasure their own time.
