Φοινικόπτερο ή αλλιώς Φλαμίνγκο (Phoenicopterus roseus) στον Αμβρακικό κόλπο. Τα Φλαμίνγκο σχηματίζουν μεγάλα σμήνη και τρέφονται σε ρηχά νερά. Απαντώνται σχεδόν όλο το χρόνο στην Ελλάδα. Αποκτούν το χαρακτηριστικό ροζ χρώμα στις φτερούγες τους όσο μεγαλώνουν, καταναλώνοντας τις μικροσκοπικές γαρίδες Artemia, τις οποίες αναζητούν στα ρηχά νερά των υγροτόπων. Για την αναπαραγωγή τους ταξιδεύουν στη Γαλλία, την Ισπανία, την Τουρκία και σε άλλες χώρες της Μεσογείου.

Flamingo (Phoenicopterus roseus), in Amvrakikos gulf. Flamingoes form large flocks that feed in shallow waters. They can be spotted in Greece throughout the year. Flamingoes acquire the characteristic pink color of their wings as they grow, by consuming the tiny Artemia spp. shrimp, which they seek in the shallow waters of wetlands. They travel to France, Spain, Turkey and other Mediterranean countries to breed and nest.
