This Illustration aims to highlight both women in science, as well as the Corannulene molecule structure. I chose to represent both elements in a way that highlights their beautiful aspects. The woman in her femininity, and the various attributes of the Corannulene through the use of colours. The confidence of the Women through her striking orange hair and the ever weaving, flowing movement of the molecule. I aim to showcase the beauty of creation within Chemistry, by showing the Woman scientist knitting an intricate pattern of the molecules. There is a sense of calmness, and assurance in the Woman’s face as she knits. I enjoyed exploring this idea using knitting, where a long string of yarn could be used to create something so intricate, beautiful, and useful.
