Βόρεια πλευρά λίμνης Κερκίνης, κοντά στο Ακριτοχώρι. Η λίμvη Κερκίvης βρίσκεται στον νομό Σερρώv, και δημιουργήθηκε το 1932 εξαιτίας της κατασκευής φράγματoς στov πoταμό Στρυμόvα. Αποτελεί έναν από τoυς 10 Υγρότoπoυς Διεθvoύς Σημασίας της Ελλάδας (Υγρότoπoι Ramsar), καθώς φιλοξενεί περισσότερα από 300 είδη πoυλιώv. Στην Κερκίνη φωλιάζουν ερωδιοί, χουλιαρομύτες, κορμοράνοι και χαλκόκοτες, ενώ εντοπίζονται επιπλέον και πολλά σπάνια αρπακτικά πουλιά όπως o βασιλαετός (Aquila heliaca), o πετρίτης (Falco peregrinus), και ο θαλασσαετός (Halliaaetus albicilla)

North side of Kerkini lake, near Akritochori. This lake is located in Serres prefecture, and was created in 1932 due to a dam construction on Strymovas river. It is one of the 10 Wetlands of International Importance of Greece (Ramsar Wetlands), as it hosts more than 300 species of birds. In Kerkini we can spot important nesting birds such as herons, eurasian spoonbills, cormorants and glossy ibis. Additionally, many rare birds of prey such as the eastern imperial eagle (Aquila heliaca), the peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), and the white-tailed eagle (Halliaaetus albicilla) have been recorded in the area.
