Across the Diaspora, dance is a ritual performance used to externalize that which language could not convey. Dance is a deep and organic function that allows a physical release of emotional tension. In the Diaspora, the most important function of dance is the rhythm— which is composed of an arrangement of patterns. The observer and dancer were both participants in the unity, interacting with one another to be apart of a higher order in the cosmic natural world. As a result, they shed fears and receive wisdom about the patterns of their life.
