"This work was made at various locations that have a spiritual significance. The aim of this work was to explore a contemplative approach to visiting places and experiment with expressing my visual response in connection to places of veneration.
I intentionally not planned the compositions and was striving to use a simple technique and a sketchbook, to make marks on the sheets aligned with what the given moment has manifested through the lines and shapes on the paper. I wished to go beyond conceptualisation and discover the connection between the place and the visitor through inspiration, inner reflection and imagination.
This project is a continuous journey, that is going to be part of my artistic experimentations and spiritual reflections.
