Portrait of B.B. King , 2020
72 x 48 in (h x w)
Bronze sculpture

Artist Statement: The joy of what I do is I get to tell or share a story through my work. In the B.B. King, my goal was to capture the engaging kindness of the man, to make you feel his warmth and presence, by reflecting his spirit. This is a portrait of the Blues Singer with his guitar “Lucille”. The figure is created with a naturalistic style, with great attention to texture and expression. I want the figures to appear as is if they are ready to speak with you.

Artist description: B.B. King, Life-size seated bronze figure with a granite bench.
