Artist statement: Fresh Academicz is an urban arts academy located in the heart of the Arts & Entertainment District in downtown Hagerstown. The academy reaches inner city youth through hip hop culture where students explore the art of hip hop through dance, rap, MC, and graffiti. Our goal is to introduce the youth to positive hip-hop culture and music and educate the community about this American-born art form that was birthed in the inner cities of America and has now become influential worldwide.
