Krems
180 x 120 cm (h x w)

Born in Krems in 1945, he now lives and works as an artist in St. Pölten and Ober-Grafendorf. After studying at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, in 1977 he started to work as a freelance graphic designer and artist with pen and ink drawings, mixed media, acrylic paints, canvas, Plexiglas, objects with aluminium or using technical artefacts. He is particularly interested in the artist group Contrapunktum as well as the exhibition CRUX (2017, Stift Melk) - the cross by means of different media. His works have been shown in Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Spain, as well as in the USA (New York, Cleveland) and Japan since 1977. Since 1985 he has repeatedly participated in art fairs in Innsbruck, Salzburg, Gent, Barcelona and Hamburg. For F. Sochurek, art is an intensive contemplation of the visible and invisible things of life - but often also of an unreal reality. Many of these thoughts can be found in his works in variously visualised language - from drawings to conceptual works.
