This video is an exploration of dissociation inherent to childhood and adolescence in shaping one’s identity. It is present in every aspect of one’s life and this is displayed through the use of several mediums of animation. There are several layers of fiction and reality present that are revealed over the course of the clips and even though each scene is separate they form together to create a full portrait. Compositions from Bo Burnham’s ‘Inside’ and a few original compositions inspired by it performed by the subject creates a throughline for the ideas presented in the visuals.
