Fluoresce , 2022
digital photographs mounted on board

My photographs aim to immerse the audience in a reflection of conceptual freedom and judgement’s power over the struggle of life of women and broader society. The continuity of five frames of dance / motion blurred images show freedom through expression. Judgement doesn’t tuly exist, yet it is still a very tangible element that remains responsible for constriction of identity and amplification of fear. Dance and movement then juxtapose as a mode of expression, and representation of innocence; which should be lifelong. The dichotomy of this life is explored; the darkness can be seen as encroaching on or corroding the figure, or the body can be seen as glowing within a world of vacuity.
