IRAN (Wherever I am)

Mixed media on canvas, 50 x 40 cm Iran my home, Iran the place of my birth. The country that gave the world soo much with its richness in culture, art , language and such exquisite beauty. What happens to my Iran, what happens to your grace of expression. Stifled by oppression and ideology. A great empire blinded by its past. Yet through a glimmer of hope like the bow and arrow of Arashe Kamangir the people of Iran hold its beauty within them. The country might live in its shrouded past but its people still carry its hope its dreams its aspirations. When they can Iran opens up and shows us it’s richness. From the stories within the shahnameh, from our histories held within the Cyrus cylinder, to our delicate hand woven carpets and miniature artistry. Even our writing exhibits or passion and art. Cast aside your strangling veil. Let your people shine and let our country shine. So I say, I am Iranian so I say, I am Persian. I say it proud and I say it loud. Wherever I Am.
