With multiple inspiration from Snapchat’s “fish-eye filter", Edvard Munch’s “The scream” and Salvador Dali’s fascination for the subconscious, this diptych interprets a dysmorphic mind with the disorder of opposing personalities. Its round shape enhances the Dutch angle, a sense of petrifying observation and discomfort for the viewer in effect. The dark saturation of graphite and bright highlights create contrast, while interactive magnifying tools further alter the extreme facial expressions, referencing Dark Expressionism.
