Social Circus , 2023
59 x 84 x 1 cm (h x w x d)
Digital Art

With inspiration from Barbara Kruger’s contemporary employment of advertisements’ visual language to critique media vs. consumer power constructs, this piece flaunts the irony of social media’s two-dimensional idealism endangering the real-world ratio. Scarlet and black hues contrast formal with imperative language, the repetition of “you” conversing directly with the audience about their own stage of culpability for media influences and destructive beauty standards. Bold, narrow-spaced font creates an accusatory tone.
