The interconnection between seemingly disparate subjects has always been something intriguing to me as an Illustrator. In this illustration, I combined the hustle culture in the world of Chemistry and lab work with the concept of relaxation and leisure. My work is inspired by the idea of “Chemistry is cooking,” and I have represented this through the depiction of apparatus in a lab as the backdrop for this light-hearted & playful scene.

Ultimately, through this piece of work, I want to invite viewers to step back from the serious and strict world of Chemistry and imagine the possibilities for playful exploration and experimentation within this field. There is beauty in unexpected combinations in life and I hope this piece of work can encourage viewers to embrace the unexpected moments and bursts of joy that can be found in even the most serious of endeavours.
