Artist Statement - Lens

About the artwork:
This piece was digitally created with an iPad stylus pen using the iPad Sketchbook drawing app.

Lens is all about diving deeper into the idea of accepting what makes up your identity and being okay with showing it. This piece portrays a young, South Asian girl who sees more in herself than her physicality. To me, an important theme in mental health is how we view and find value in our identities. Sometimes, so much time is put into trying to be someone else, or living for someone else, that we forget how limited our time is. We really should embrace who we are.

About the artist:
I am a young, Peel student who happens to be curious about all of the special things the world has to offer. I enjoy listening to music, drawing, and playing games with friends.
