This painting represents the theme of self-representation. It consists of a blue mosque, and islamic building of prayer, which is located in Istanbul, Turkey. The subject matter of this piece is personally relevant because as a Muslim, Islamic art and mosque architecture have always been a huge part of my life and my overall artistry inspiration. As architecture is something I want to explore and pursue in my future, studying buildings and structure has been something that’s interested and intrigued me. Drawing a building that holds so much symbolism towards my religion, which is a huge part of my identity, is an honour and pleasure.
