Kai Thaís - Addressing Stereotypes Through Art , 2023

HOW CAN WE ADDRESS THE ROOTS OF STEREOTYPES BASED IN RACISM, SEXISM, ABLEISM, QUEERPHOBIA AND MORE, THROUGH CREATIVES MEANS, TO CHANGE OUR PERCEPTION OF OURSELVES AND EACH OTHER?

ARTISTIC CREATION OPENS INCREDIBLE SPACES FOR HEALING, DIALOGUE, AND UNDERSTANDING.

BEING VULNERABLE AND TRUE WITH ONE'S EXPERIENCES COMING FROM MARGINALIZED
GROUPS AND EXPRESSING THEM THOUGH ART SERVES NOT ONLY TO PROCESS AND OVERCOME THE ROOTS OF STEREOTYPES THAT HURT US, BUT GIVES A WAY FOR OTHERS TO ALSO CONSIDER HOW THESE STEREOTYPES MANIFEST THEMSELVES IN THEIR LIVES AND HOW THEY ARE COMPLICIT IN THEM.

I THINK THAT EXCHANGE IS CRUCIAL IN THE PROCESS OF RELEARNING AND DECONSTRUCTING
LEARNED BIASES.

ID: Kai is a Puerto Rican brown woman with short, brown curly hair and brown eyes. In the picture she stands, arms outstretched in front of a wall, surrounded by multiple art pieces.
