Artist Statement: "This is a variation of a painting I created shortly after leaving a long term abusive relationship. I was living on my own for the first time in my life. It felt good to break free from the abuse but I felt lost wasn’t sure how to move forward. Creating this painting helped me connect with my inner self and inner light that was nearly extinguished by the destructive relationship. It lit the way to my recovery and my healthy new life."
