My project is based on the theme of conflict and identity using the eyes to convey emotions. My final
outcome is mixed media on 60x42cm black card with oil pastels, acrylic paint and charcoal. I wanted
to show how negative emotions, portrayed by horror imagery, can be layered deep inside whilst being
masked by a contrasting exterior. I used a dark colour palette of acrylics to convey the negative
emotions in the centre and lighter colours in the softer textured oil pastelsfor the masking outer faces.
I also made the darker emotions abstract to better visualise the contrasting extremes of emotion. I
enjoyed exploring and learning different ways to convey my ideas though this project
