I based my Project on Manga-Inspired Character Design. This project was
greatly influenced by the manga-inspired artist Asia Ladowska who I chose to study. My final
piece was of a girl in the sunset with her hair blowing in the wind. I chose to use a typewriter
and type a text background, which I then layered the character on top of. I then highlighted
keywords in the typed background that represented how my character felt. I used brush pen
alcohol markers, as is typically used in producing manga. I then used a black fine liner to outline
and shade various parts of the image, including the hair, clouds and face. I am very pleased with
how my project turned out and I very much
enjoyed learning new skills and styles.
