My project is based on the theme of being in the woods. It explores the space you can find between
the trees and the effect of light filtered down through the leaves. My final piece is 15cm by 19.5 cm
on thick pastel paper. I used oil pastels to create this. I wanted the visual language of this image to
be one of hope and life with the path leading us deeper in to the forest’s stillness. My aim was to try
to capture a snapshot of what it’s like to be completely surrounded by trees and undergrowth and
how it feels to be immersed in the peace of a forest. I really enjoyed this project and it has definitely
added to my love of being in the woods
