Level 2 Art and Design

My project was inspired by the work of Max Liebermann, a Jewish artist who influenced the impressionistic movement in central Europe. My final
outcome is acrylic paints on canvas and is 100 cm x 150 cm. It took me over 50 hours to produce over 16 days, and I am extremely proud of what I
was able to create in that time. With this painting I created a visual metaphor for the cycle of hypocrisy of previous generations always blaming all of
societies problems on the newer generation, despite it being a society and system they created and helped maintain. I did this through the visual
language of the wilting flowers and my accusatory stare, they convey the metaphor itself which is: You blame the flower for dying yet you are the
one who cut it from its roots.
