article on the bombing of the Des Moines Black Panther Party headquarters. Many members of the Des Moines branch of the Black Panther Party were in their meeting house when it was bombed. Fortunately, no one was injured. To this day, no one has said who bombed the building. The police were supsected and also a group of white supremacists.
An interesting fact is that "From 1968 to the end of its publication in 1982, the head editors of the Black Panther Party newspaper were all women. In 1970, approximately 40% to 70% of Party members were women, and several chapters, like the Des Moines, Iowa, and New Haven, Connecticut, were headed by women."
