ARTIST BIO

Anna was born in Ukraine. She lives in this country for now despite all the threats. Every day Ukrainians pray for peace and their independence. Anna’s works show that Ukrainians are a very creative nation.
Anna has two higher educations - a design engineer and a teacher of a higher school. She has no art education, but all her life from early childhood, creativity has been around.
She has been professionally engaged in photography for many years. Anna specialized in portrait and subject photography. It gave her rich experience for the future.

Anna is a self-taught artist. All her life she dreamed of drawing, but only at almost 40 years old she realized that this dream could come true. She is going to her my dream now. She draws a lot and try herself in different styles and technics. She works with watercolor, ink, graphite, colored pencils and markers.
She is planning to get art education. She wants to teach children to draw and see the world through the prism of creativity.

ARTIST STATEMENT

I don't want to draw on the same subject. I am constantly learning and have made it a rule to do quick sketches every day. I draw what comes to mind first. This exercise greatly develops the list of subjects and objects that I can draw. Sometimes these drawings stay in the sketchbook, but sometimes I turn them into detailed and realistic large format drawings.

At first I was focused on botanical painting. But the desire to expand my possibilities led me to the path of thoughtful painting with deep meaning. I want viewers to look at my painting for a long time and read my messages and find their own. All the same, the beauty of nature inspires my creativity. We always want to draw people's attention to the most beautiful things that our earth has created - flowers and plants, birds, water, the sky, life in general.

I have been engaged in photography for many years, so I learned to see a beautiful picture in simple subjects. I learned to highlight the main thing and place accents.

Non-artistic education and rich life experience give me the opportunity to develop my own style and look for my own ways of creative search. Sometimes I want to go study to improve my technique. But sometimes I afraid of this, because there is a fear of losing myself under the harsh influence of post-Soviet artistic education. Therefore, I am still on the way to my knowledge and myself. This experience is definitely reflecting in my work.
