Berszán’s black silicone structures arise through a process of etching and division of the canvas. Thus, anthropomorphic shapes emerge on the surface of the canvas depicting non‐object states and imperceptible movements.

Zsolt Berszán’s work speaks of repulsion and fascination, and at the same time about the shapes that lie on the border between hallucination and obsession, wherein the identity and order were interrupted.

Themes, such as the double and the metamorphosis, in other words, subjects of the atrophied characters are all representations of the abject. Berszán’s creation is placed at the refine border between the depiction of identity and its dissolution, thus aiming to represent the none-symbolized.
