Henry Bacon (1839-1912) à commencé à peindre, à Écouen, en 1866. Il se lie d'amitié avec Mary Cassatt, Luigi Chialiva et Ferdinand Heilbuth. C'est à lui que l'on doit la découverte de Pont-Aven qui deviendra un centre artistique florissant.
Henry Bacon (1839-1912) began to paint in Ecouen in 1866. He became a friend of Mary Cassatt, Luigi Chialiva and Ferdinand Heilbuth. We owe him the discovery of the Pont-Aven School of painters which became a very flourishing artistic center.
