Michael Jacques was born and raised in Vermont. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from the Boston University School of Fine Arts. After 2 years as an illustrator in the U.S. Army, he returned to New England and received his Master’s Degree from Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford. He taught at Boston’s Emmanuel College before moving to the Laguna Beach region. It is at that time that his palette from a classical deep valued colors to rich and bright. He first started exhibiting at the Festival of Arts in 1988. He is currently teaching at the Laguna College of Art & Design.
